Creating & Sharing Referral Links
This page explains how affiliates create referral links, what options are available (campaign or product-level links), and best practices to maximize conversions.
Generating links
- Default link: every affiliate has a default link to the store home page which includes a tracking parameter.
- Campaign links: affiliates can generate links tied to a campaign so that campaign-specific commissions and creatives apply.
- Product links: create links that point directly to a product page; best for influencer recommendations.
Link options and parameters
- UTM parameters: append UTM tags to preserve marketing attribution while keeping affiliate tracking intact.
- Custom landing pages: link to promotional landing pages or specific collection pages to improve conversion.
Best practices for sharing
- Use short, readable links in social posts; consider using a shortener or a vanity domain if available.
- Share relevant creatives provided by merchants to increase conversion trust.
- Encourage affiliates to pin an evergreen link in profiles (bio link) and use campaign/product links in individual posts.
Tracking & troubleshooting
- Affiliates can view click logs in their portal to validate traffic and diagnose issues (e.g., mismatched UTM or redirect issues).
- If clicks are missing, test links in an incognito window and check cookie behavior across browsers.
Developer notes
- Tracking relies on either a client-side script tag that sets cookies on click or server-side proxied links; ensure both flows handle redirects and preserve parameters.
Good link hygiene combined with clear promotional guidance helps affiliates convert their audiences more effectively.
- A referral link contains a unique affiliate identifier so Sprusify can attribute visits and purchases to you.

- Click
Create new linkand select a campaign or landing page. - Optionally add UTM parameters to track source campaigns (e.g.,

Share best practices

- Use deep links for mobile apps where available to preserve attribution.
Tracking and verification
- Check Dashboard > Recent Clicks to see that clicks from your shared link are recorded.
- If you don’t see clicks, test by opening the link in an incognito window and completing a test order.
